Happy Mail Carrier Day on February 4th! We appreciate our mail carrier, Jeff! Thanks for all you do!

The 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders in ULE were a part of a sheep dissection lab with Mr. Robinson (our ULE teacher's husband) today! They compared the sheep brain to our human brains to compare and contrast the two. Great questioning, collaborative learning, and imaginative inferencing was so exciting to see! We also had several future biologists brave enough to hold it!!! So cool! What a great learning experience!

Congratulations to our All City 3rd grade teacher, Eliza Leloux, for being one of 70 Sioux Falls School District teachers nominated for Teacher of the Year honors! Way to go! Thank you to all of the individuals who took the time and effort to nominate! All of our teachers are so deserving of this honor and we want to thank them for their dedication and passion for teaching our youth! Harris Teacher of the Year in the coming weeks! https://www.sf.k12.sd.us/page/teacher-of-the-year-program

Our first whole school musical practice was a success! About once a week until showtime in March, students will gather to sing songs, practice lines and choreography as a whole group! It is so awesome to see their progression of confidence, poise, and determination to produce the best musical they can! Keep working hard! We look forward to the show!

Happy School Counselor's Week! We really appreciate all of the ways Mrs. Sweeter supports our students and staff at Jane Addams! She "fills our buckets" daily! We are lucky to have her!

Chess Club Update: They are currently in round 4 of 5 of the tournament, so they are closing in on the championship! Good luck everyone!

The 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders in ULE (gifted education) learned about their brains! They then had to build a model representing the parts of their brain! They turned out awesome!

Big shoutout to the parents who brought in food/drinks for the teachers/staff and decorated the workroom during conferences this week! Such cute decor! Big thanks to the Hohn family for organizing it! We appreciate it so much and thanks in advance for the meal on Thursday!!

On Feb. 1st, the Skyforce invited Jane Addams students to come to their game for free through donated tickets from Dakotah Bank! Thank you! They even got to make a fan tunnel to slap hands with the starters before the game started! What a neat experience! All of the students and fans cheered loudly for the Skyforce win! Thanks for having us!

Kids had lots of fun swimming at Embe this month! There are always such fun memories made swimming with friends!

Congrats to our High Flyers for this week! We are proud of your leadership
characteristics you displayed to earn PBIS tickets! Way to go!
