Happy Veteran's Day! All City students made cards for veterans at the VA Hospital and veteran family members. We appreciate the service of all veterans especially those who are connected to ACE families! Thank you for all you have done to protect and serve our country!

The Science Club learned about Newton’s First Law of Motion today and applied what they learned by building a race car using an empty plastic bottle, straws, wooden skewers, bottle cap wheels, a balloon and a rubber band. They tested them, improved their designs and then raced them in the classroom. So cool!

Jane Addams students joined forces with other students in the district to "Read for the Record" last month. The book they read was "With LOTS of Love." Many students either read it in the library or in their classrooms throughout the day. Mrs. Reavis, our new librarian this year, led the charge on this fun experience! Check out her poster to get to know her more!

Our Jane Addams High Flying Eagles were well represented with great school leaders for this past week! Way to work hard!

Our busy week wrapped up with our K-5 monthly swimming trip to Embe! Smiles everywhere!

The annual Halloween teacher costume reveal is always a big hit and so much fun! The kids are ecstatic to figure out what they will be and see how they make their grand entrance! This year was Barbie themed and the teachers rode in from a pink limousine, Barbie corvette, Barbie Jeep, and Ken drove a pick-up! Big thank you to Elite Limousine for donating the time/driver for our reveal and to Mary Pat Norgaard for helping with arrangements! It was so kind of them to do that! THANK YOU! Thanks to Mrs. Rausis, Miss Joffer's family, and Mr. Borges for bringing their cars as well! We love surprising the kids and it is such a fun tradition through the years!

Fall parties were a huge hit in all of the ACE classrooms! Thank you to all of the parents who helped organize and volunteered for these events! The costume parade was also a fun success in the gym! We end the busy day in Family with the Halloween Sing-Along! We love these traditions!

The 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders had a visit on November 2 from some local VFW members to share about their lives and the importance of knowing how to treat and fold the flag properly. Students were selected to practice folding the flag. Each child received a bag of patriotic memorabilia as well. We want to thank these ladies and gentleman for their service and time.
Reminder: We do not have school on November 10th in honor of Veteran's Day!

SFSD's new Canvas platform allows students and families to access school assignments and homework anytime, anywhere. When winter weather can be predicted, students and staff will take devices home to continue their learning. Are you prepared? Check out the guidance BEFORE you need it!

On October 27th, All City hosted the annual Fall Festival! It is a fun time had by all current and former students and families! Thanks to the Datchler family for helping organize the event and to all the families for the booths and activities! So awesome!
