This morning our 3rd grade students did some exploring at the Mary Jo Wegner Arboretum! They used iPads to complete a scavenger hunt out in nature! 🌲🌿🍁
The Book Fair is coming!!! 📚🥳 Next week during conferences we will have our annual book fair! Head to the Anne Sullivan library to check it out there will be lots of fun things and new books!
Today our 1st, 3rd, and 5th grade students are getting their vision and hearing screening!! Students will come home with more information as needed! If you have vision and hearing cone we should for your child please contact the school! 👂👁

Last week our principal Mrs. Duin, went on the news to give an update on free and reduced lunch! There is still time to fill out paperwork for free and reduced lunch here are school to help alleviate the costs! 🍽💲The form can be found on infinite campus or contact the school office for help!
Excuse us while we brag for a minute… Our Superintendent is pretty talented! Dr. Jane Stavem is an accomplished pianist, vocalist, trumpet player, French horn player, percussionist, xylophone player… oh, and she also plays harmonica! 😉 These talents, along with her deep love for all things Fine Arts, earned her the honor of Parade Marshal for Festival of Bands 2022! We are proud to be lead by someone who values the role extracurriculars play in “preparing each student to succeed in a changing world!”

Orange Shirt Day! Friday September 30th, 2022, is Orange shirt day that promotes awareness about the history of American Indian and Native Residential boarding school systems which still impact Native Americans today. The day honors the children who were removed from their families and forced into boarding schools and remembers those who never returned home. Encourage kiddos to wear orange!
Dental checks and learning session! On Friday we had our dentist friends come to visit about the importance of healthy teeth! She also taught the kids how to clean their teeth each day, answered questions, and checked each mouth for overall tooth health! All of the kids got to take home a brand new toothbrush! 🦷🪥😁
1st Graders to the Fire House! Most of our first graders got to go to the Sioux Falls fire station #2 this week! One group is still set to go this next Monday! They got to learn about fire safety and see all of the equipment!
Don’t forget to talk to all our kiddos about fire safety and rules both for home and school!

Cub Scout Meeting! Today a leader from Cub Scouts came to visit with kiddos about getting involved! Kids can learn a variety of outdoor skills, leadership skills, as well as technology and science skills!! Meeting is Monday night at Terry Redlin! Boys and girls are welcome!!
