
Ms. Werner's biology students are learning about homeostasis and how the human body can maintain internal conditions despite changing external conditions. They completed a heart lab where they did different levels of exercise and measured how that affected their heart rates!




Parenting is hard. So is growing up! Join SFSD and Avera experts as we team up virtually on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6pm for topics that strengthen families.

The Mayor’s Youth Council provides teens a voice on community issues and the opportunity to learn about City government and develop leadership skills.

A presidential dignitary was spotted on school grounds today! Help this Founding Father cheer on the Cavaliers to victory at tomorrow's President's Bowl game versus Lincoln. Kickoff is at 7pm.




Students in Mrs. Bonham's Single Survival class were challenged to work together in teams to build the tallest tower in 20 minutes out of a box of spaghetti and mini marshmallows. Students then discussed their ability to work together and their strengths and weaknesses.





This morning, Kevin Gansz, Curator for Education for the Siouxland Heritage Museums and Civil War Reenactor spoke to US History students about the life of a Civil War soldier.



Last chance to help JHS tackle hunger! Booster Club Co-President Tony Erickson will be collecting donations outside Jefferson until 8pm tonight! Look for the JHS flag. Donations can also be dropped off at Scheels until closing!

This week, Mrs. Hittner's AP Environmental Science have been creating a biodiversity index for spaces around our school. In October, they will be pitching new landscaping projects to increase the grounds' biodiversity.




Community Partnership Coordinator, Brian Majerus, visited JHS to share more about The Banquet with National Honor Society members.


Today, the City of Sioux Falls and Sioux Area Metro pulled up at Roosevelt High School to explain the public transit "Kids Ride Free Initiative." As the city works to increase ridership and build future transit users, children can ride SAM buses with a School ID/Freedom Pass.



Over 100 students taking Ms. Gregg's Photo I class got cameras out for the first time this year. They got hands on experience with the camera and explored seeing the campus from different angles!





We are the Cavaliers! Principal Conrad teaches the freshmen class the school song, Hail to the Cavaliers, during an assembly in the auditorium.


Reviewing what they've learned in previous years, Mr. Dickes World Geography students work cooperatively to put 136 pieces, of a detailed puzzle map, together.



School drop-offs and pick-ups can be messy! Take your time, stay alert, and obey the rules of the road. A safe and orderly process makes the day start and end on a positive note for both students and parents!
